A group home is different from a hospice; it is not a medical facility that provides terminal care. However, group home is a similar environment in a sense that the elderly live there as the last place of their life. The most important thing in such facilities is to support their lives to their death and take care of their whole lives with respect to their personality. Tatsuo Miyajima is one of the artist who have the most understanding of these things through his experience in the “Hospice Art Project”. Tatsuo Miyajima introduced a theme “kai-en (open the connections)” for this project.
